The outburst of anti-Semitic vandalism reached Vienna yesterday, with the discovery that the city’s only synagogue was smeared. A night watchman found the word “Jude” in letters 18 inches high in white paint near the door of the Seitenstettengasse Synagogue.
Police said that an apparent attempt to smear another building, which houses the main office of the Vienna Jewish community, was interrupted by pedestrians.
The words “Out With The Jews” were found on sidewalks at Neustift in Waide, a suburb of Vienna.
