Austrian Chancellor Wolfgang Schussel criticized right-wing politician Jorg Haider for a verbal attack on the leader of Austrian Jewry that was widely seen as anti-Semitic. Referring to a Feb. 28 speech in which Haider used a German pun to criticize Ariel Muzicant, Schussel said, “I am against playing with words on anti-Semitism, racism and other such things. These are delicate matters, and we must be very prudent.”
