Although all of the Big Four powers are reported to have reacted cobllyto the suggestion that an official Jewish representative he included in the Austriandelegation to Moscow, which is participating in the talks on the Austrian peace treaty, the government did not press too hard for inclusion of a Jewish delegate, it was indicated here today.
A government spokesman who reported the Big Four’s reaction, added that “special presentation of Jewish claims at Moscow might evoke discontent in Austria.” He pointed out that Dr. S.B. Hintze, director of the bureau of mine property oustedy who is now in Moscow, is considered an expert on Jewish demands.
A second Austrian delegation headed by Chancellor Leopold Figl is due to leave for the Soviet capital shortly, to join the one headed by Foreign Minister Karl Gruber. David Brill, president of the Jewish Community Council, had been assured that he would be included in the latter delegation.
