The Austrian Government today postponed the time when three restitution measures come into effect from March 31 to June 30.

The postponement had been requested by the Vionna Jewish Community, the World Jewish Congress and a number of worldwide Jewish organizations. Jewish claimants are hoping that a peace treaty will be signed between Austria and the Allies before the measures become effective, and that the treaty will grant to Austria for restitution purposes property now claimed by the Soviet Union as “German assets.”
