A delegation from the Federation of Austrian Jewish Communities called on Vice Chancellor Bruno Pitterman today to urge the immediate enactment of a new restitution act to set up an institution to distribute heirless and unclaimed property among victims of Nazi persecution. Until a law is formally on the books, none of this property can be shared out.
Herr Pitterman promised his full support of the demands of the Jewish communities. He immediately contacted Finance Minister Reinhard Kamitz to initiate legal action.
