A request to prevent Jewish immigrants without means from entering Austria was directed to the Austrian government by the Kultusgemeinde, the Jewish communal organization, of Klagenfurt, the capital of Carinthia.

The Kultusgemeinde urged the government to direct the Austrian consul in Trieste to refuse visas to immigrants without means, particularly those who are returned from Palestine.
