Austrian Justice Minister Kapfer explained today that J. Sanitzer, one-time Gestapo leader, who was recently returned from Soviet imprisonment, had not been re-arrested for his crimes against Jews and others because he had already served three years in an Austrian prison and six more in Russian penal camps.
The Minister asserted that he had on his own responsibility granted freedom to Sanitzer pending a government amnesty which he expects Meanwhile, informed sources assert that Sanitzer will soon be arrested.
