The Peoples Party and the Social Democrats, the two members of the Austrian coalition government, will begin discussions this week of possible new reparations offers by Austria to the world Jewish organizations, it was learned here today. It is expected that the matter will be raised formally in Parliament within a very few days after its session begins tomorrow.
Meanwhile, a committee of government officials has completed a memorandum outlining the limits of the Austrian offer. Although the contents of this report have not been made known, reliable informants assert that the offer will not exceed the last proposal made by Dr. Reinhardt Kamitz, Austrian Finance Minister, last summer. It was this offer which the Jewish Claims Committee rejected.
