The Austrian Parliament passed this week-end a law ordering the return to former Nazis of property confiscated from them by the state as punishment when they were convicted by post-liberation courts.
It is estimated that of some 10,000 pieces of real estate, farms and small manufacturing plants, the state still holds about 1,300. Some 70 percent of these properties fall under the terms of the new law and must be restored to the ex-Nazis.
