The provincial government of Vorarlberg in the French zone of Austria has tanned in advance the showing, of a motion picture dealing with anti-Semitism. The picture, entitled “The Trial,” has not yet been completed. It deals with various anti-Jewish incidents, such as a famous ritual murder trial in Hungary at the end of the last century.
The Vorarlberg authorities, who recently announced their opposition to Jewish ritual slaughtering of animals, claim that they were instructed by central authorities in Vienna to ban the picture. However, the Ministries of Interior and Education and the Chancellery, deny that any such ban has been issued.
