Alfred Borth, publisher of the newspaper “Wegwarte,” today was sentenced to two months’ imprisonment here, after being convicted of publishing articles which the court deemed “neo-Nazi propaganda.”
Borth is the self-styled “fuehrer” of the Organization of Patriotic Youth. Last winter, the Minister of the Interior ordered dissolution of the organization on the grounds that it engaged in neo-Nazi activities.
The Austrian Parliament unanimously approved today a law which bans the wearing of World War II decorations which include the swastika. Such decorations may be worn or displayed only if the Nazi emblems are erased or otherwise made invisible.
