Austrian Vice Chancellor Susanne Riess-Passer is planning to visit Israel in October in an attempt to improve relations between the two countries, the weekly magazine Profil reported. Israel withdrew its ambassador from Vienna in February 2000 and has said it will not send a new one while Riess-Passer’s far-right Freedom Party remains in the government.
