Austria’s ambassador to the United States denied belittling the suffering of Holocaust victims after a U.S. lawyer demanded that the envoy be recalled for remarks he made to an Austrian magazine. Lawyer Ed Fagan, who last week sued Austria and its top companies for $18 billion on behalf of Holocaust survivors, accused Peter Moser of equating the suit with a case in which a woman won $480,000 from McDonald’s after a cup of hot coffee spilled in her lap.
