Austria’s far-right Freedom Party finished last in two regional elections over the weekend. The poor showings by the party associated with Jorg Haider lead some analysts to believe that Haider may return to national politics. For a time, the party was part of the Austrian government after it finished second in national elections in 1999, spurring Israel to temporarily suspend diplomatic relations with Vienna.
