Austro-jewish Reparations Talks Adjourned Until September

The Jewish talks with the Austrian Government for compensation for Jews who suffered damages under the Nazi regime in Austria were adjourned today until early in September following an agreement to this effect reached between Dr. Nahum Goldmann and members of the Austrian Cabinet.

Dr. Goldmann and Moses Beckelm an, who met today with Chancellor Julius Raab. Foreign Minister Karl Gruber and Finance Minister Rein hard Kamitz, were told that the Austrian Government is eager to find a solution to the problem of settling Jewish claims and is studying various aspects of the problem.

The Jewish representatives said that today’s meeting was cordial. During the summer weeks small mixed groups of experts will discuss detailed figures of the claims presented by the Jewish world organizations to the Austrian Government, it was indicated.
