Secretary of State George C. Marshall told his ?ress conference today that the United States was waiting to see what the attitude ## the U.N. Security Council will be with regard to the situation in Palestine before by announcement can be made regarding the lifting or modification of the Palestine ?ms embargo.
Replying to a question about the status of studies being made in this country ## lifting the arms embargo, Marshall said that this government has the matter under desideration, adding that the U.S. must also consider the attitude of the Security council in making its decision. He refused to elaborate further on his statement regarding the Security Council.
Asked if there was anything that could be said on the matter of exchanging diplomatic representatives with the Provisional Government of Israel, Secretary Marshall replied that the question has not come up yet.
