The American Automobile Association was called upon today to cease its endorsement of hotels guilty of racial and religioas discrimination. The appeal was made by the Travel Agents Committee to Combat Discrimination in the Travel Industry, an organization of 125 leading travel agents in the metropolitan area.
“The AAA continues to follow the practice of recommending hotels that discriminate in its triptiks. Its directories still list, as approved, many such hotels,” the Committee said. Such discrimination is contrary to American ideals and democratic practices, it declared. It asked the AAA to use its publications and facilities to serve only “those hotels and resorts free from the blight of discrimination.”
