A dinner will be held June 13 to celebrate the fifth anniversary of the Avukah Summer School, it was announced by Cyrus Levinthal, chairman of the anniversary dinner committee. The dinner will precede by a week the opening of this year’s session, which will continue for two weeks, beginning June 20, at Glen Country Lodge, Glen Spy, N. Y.
Among the patrons are many friends and former lecturers at the school including Rabbi Micha### Alpert, Abraham H. Cohen Charles A. Cowen, Rabbi Simon Greenberg, Mrs. Augusta Schon Holzman, Henry Hurwitz, Professor Horace M. Kallen, Cyrus and Louis Levinthal, Samuel Margoshes, Morris Rothenberg, Professor Shalom Spiegel and Rabbi Milton Steinberg.
The guests will be addressed by Rabbi Maurice B. Pekavsky. of the B’nai B’rith Hillel Foundation at Cornell and director of the summer school for four years, and by Rabbi Simon Greenberg of Philadelphia, President of National Avukah. Rabbi Milton Steinberg, chairman of the scholarship committee, will speak on the scholarship work of the school. Proceeds of the dinner will be used for the endowment of some of this year’s scholarships. Dinner reservations are being received at the office of Avukah, 101 Fifth avenue.
