Jewish college students from all parts of the nation, representing forty-seven colleges, will converge upon Cleveland this weekend where the tenth annual national Avukah convention will open at the Hotel Cleveland.

Approximately three hundred students, including fifteen from New York colleges, are expected to attend the parley, scheduled to last four days.

After registration of delegates Sunday evening, the first session will be called the following morning by Samuel Maron, president of the graduate chapter of Avukah of Cleveland. Individual chapters will present reports of their yearly activities at the initial session.

ACTIVITIES ON CAMPUS

A symposium on “What Is Avukah” will be held in the evening. Discussion will be led by Rabbis Barnett Brickner and Samuel Blumenfield, and A. H. Friedland. The first full day will be climaxed with an informal party at the hotel.

The highlight of Tuesday’s session will be a discussion of the “Jewish Student on the Campus.” Sam Duker, of the Harvard University chapter, and Abe M. Max, of the Wisconsin University chapter, will give addresses.

The morning will be devoted to round-table committee conferences. A formal dinner dance will end activities on the second day.

Committee reports and resolutions will occupy the delegates Wednesday. At the close of the convention officers for the following year will be elected.

ART EXHIBIT AT HOTEL

A house party and reunion is planned for Wednesday evening, when former Avukah members will meet present adherents.

Throughout the parley an art exhibit, featuring the work of Saul Raskin, Isaac Sankowsky, Shulamith Wittenberg, Ruth Light and Lionel Reiss, will be held at the hotel.

Another novelty will be the exhibit of Palestinian literature and souvenirs of ten years of Avukah work including mementos of the John Haynes Holmes – Clarence Darrow debate on Zionism, the Avukah Summer School and the Avukah conference on Labor Zionism.

Rose Rosenberg, of this city, is chairman of the convention committee and Rose Baron, of Cleveland, is head of the arrangements committee.
