A jury of local music critics awarded to Ermend Bonnal, French composer, the $500 prize offered by the Society for the Advancement of Synagogue Music for the best synagogue composition adapted to Adon Olam. Nnety-six manuscripts were submitted from all over the world. Cantor Rinder of Temple Emanuel is president of the Society. The judges were Albert Elkus, Alexander Fried and Cantor Rabinowitz.
