The National Board of Directors of the American Zionist Federation has adopted a resolution taking note of the decision by the Zionist Organization of America to withdraw from the AZF. Declaring that the ZOA has “disassociated itself from the entire organized Zionist movement and has disfranchised its own members and leaders on all levels of organized Zionist life, both nationally and internationally,” the resolution called on the ZOA leadership to “rescind its regrettable decision, to recognize the need for Zionist discipline, and to resume its place in the unified Zionist movement.”
The resolution also expressed the AZF’s “welcome” of the “reaffirmation of support” for the AZF by other American Zionist organizations and by the Executive of the World Zionist Organization. It pledged that the AZF would “renew our commitment to carry out the Zionist program and to build a strong Zionist movement in the United States.”
