Bernard Lekasch, French Jewish journalist, was elected president of the League to Fight Anti-Semitism at a general meeting of the League held last night. Mr. Lekasch was chosen by a committee of twenty to succeed Henri Torres, who resigned.
M. Torres, in his letter of resignation, declared he is withdrawing from the post because he considers the existence of the League unnecessary. Mr. Lekasch, who presided, differed with M. Torres’ view, declaring, “the Jews must be ready at all times.”
