The provincial parliament of Baden, meeting in Karlsruhe yesterday, declined to adopt a motion of the anti-Semitic National Socialist party to prohibit schechita, the Jewish method of slaughtering. Of late schechita has been under attack in other parts of Germany. The Bavarian parliament recently passed a law which in effect forbade it, but by a reinterpretation of the German legal code, the Bavarian law became inoperative.
