Rumanian, Bulgarian and Hungarian Jews who have property in Britain seized by the government during the war, or their heirs, have only until June of this year to file their claims, the Anglo-Jewish Association announced today. The announcement also pointed out that the organization has received a number of inquiries concerning the possibilities for release of such property.
The Association recalled that in May, 1948, the Board of Trade, which has Jurisdiction over such property, said that it would be released if the claimant could prove that he was a victim of persecution and that he was not disloyal to the Al lied cause.
While negotiations with the government concerning the interpretation of various conditions attached to the release of the property continue and a final decision ##y not be announced for some time, the A.J.A. announcement stated, the government will not consider any claims filed after June, 1949.
