The British Government has withdrawn its ban on the enlistment of foreigners in the British forces by issuing an Order in Council under the Emergency Powers Act of 1939, permitting the nationals of neutrals or Allied states to join the forces or obtain commissions, according to reports from London today.
It was emphasized, however, that the British defense departments had no intention at the moment of commissioning or enlisting aliens on a large scale.
