American tourists going to Israel can now cash in their State of Israel Bonds at the Bank Leumi le-Israel offices here, and receive their money in Israeli pounds plus a 20 percent premium, the bank announced today. Bank Leumi le-Israel is the National Bank of Israel.
Israeli pound travelers’ check can be bought for amounts up to $1,500, the bank stated. The 20 percent premium means that an American tourist going to Israel receives an additional $200 worth of Israeli pounds under the new arrangement.
