The Jewish sports and athletic organization, Bar Kochba, celebrated the thirtieth anniversary of its existence this week at a meeting attended by representatives of the German Hockey Union and the Brandenburg Athletic Federation.
Dr. Lelewer, Chairman of the Bar Kochba, presided. Dr. Israel Auerbach spoke of the important place of sports and athletics in the development of the Jewish people. Herr Kareski spoke as representative of the Berlin Jewish community, and Dr. S. Hirsch for the Zionist Organization of Germany. Dr. Alfred Klee, Vice-President of the Berlin Jewish Community, sent a message stating that owing to a meeting in Paris of the Council of the Ica, he was unable to be present, but he hoped that the Bar Kochba would carry on its great aim of Jewish regeneration.
