The current issue of the New Judea, Zionist monthly, condemns “the cold legalism whereby the doors of Palestine are slammed in the faces of unfortunate unofficial emigres.”
“We appreciate the British Government’s difficulty,” an editorial said. “It is placed in its predicament by an unimaginative administration in Palestine and short-sighted departmental supporters who are determined to pursue to the bitter end the unfortunate policy of the White Paper.”
The paper suggested that extra-quota refugee immigrants be admitted and their number deducted from future quotas.
