A touching scene took place when Baron Edmond deRothschild was greeted by the delegation of the Palestine colonies. On hearing the reports of the Jewish development in Palestine, tears appeared in his eyes and he asked the delegation to extend to the “Yischub” greetings in his name.
Baron deRothschild received the delegation in Cairo because he was too weak to proceed to Jerusalem which he had intended visiting. Mayor Dizengoff of Tel-Aviv, who headed the delegation, extended the freedom of his city to Baron deRothschild.
