Baron Hermann Groedel, a member of one of the most prominent Jewish families in Hungary, died here today at the age of 75. Known as one of the wealthiest members of the pre-war Jewish aristocracy in the late Austro-Hungarian Empire, the Baron was famous for his liberal philanthropies to various Jewish causes. The large timber enterprises which he operated employed many thousands of people.
