Baron James de Rothschild today announced a total of 410,000 pounds in donations to Israeli scientific, religious and welfare institutions to commemorate the reburial last week of his late parents, the Baron Edmond and the Baroness Adelaide de Rothschild, in Israel.
The grants were apportioned as follows: Rehovoth Agricultural Research Institute, 100,000 pounds; Hebrew University, 100,000 pounds; Israel Technical Institute, 60,000 pounds; Rothschild Hospital in Haifa, 50,000 pounds; various religious institutions including yeshivoth, 40,000 pounds; various other small institutions, 40,000 pounds; and 20,000 pounds for five equal scholarships for people who excel in research in agriculture and science.
