The establishment of a 3,000,000 pound development corporation to build middle class housing and tourist facilities at Caesaria, on the Mediterranean coast north of Haifa, was announced here last night by Baron Edmond de Rothschild. Rothschild interests will invest half the capital and the Government of Israel the other half, the Baron revealed.
The first villa in the new Caesaria development has already been purchased by Mr. and Mrs. M. Hungerleider of Yardley, Pennsylvania. Mrs. Hungerleider is the daughter of the late S. D. Gottesman, American philanthropist who advanced the funds needed to buy the Dead Sea Scrolls now in possession of the Israel Government.
