Several hundred leaders and active members of the American Labor Zionist movement gave an impressive “send-off” to Baruch Zuckerman, noted Labor Zionist leader, and his wife, who are leaving for permanent settlement in Israel. The gathering, which took place in the Grand Ball Room of the Sheraton-Astor Hotel, was addressed by Rose Halprin, acting chairman of the Jewish Agency executive; Louis Lipsky, Alexander Kahn, and other Jewish leaders.
The services rendered the Zionist movement by Mr. Zuckerman during more than 50 years of his activity were emphasized by all speakers. Each of the guests contributed $25 for the “Jewish Frontier” and the “Yiddisher Kempfer”–the two publications of the American Labor Zionist movement–in honor of Mr. and Mrs. Zuckerman.
