The Schechita, the Jewish method of slaughtering animals, was the subject of a long debate in the Bavarian Diet.
The Diet adopted a resolution urging the government to issue an ordinance, according to which all animals slaughtered for food must be stunned, in accordance with the bill passed by the Diet on July 8, 1926. The resolution also states that after the completion of experiments which are now being made to render animals immune to pain by the use of chemicals, this method would be permitted.
