Under the leadership of Dr. Dayve B. DeWaltoff, the B’nai Israel Community Center, Fifty-fourth street and Fourth avenue, Brooklyn, plans once again to make itself a center for Jewish activity in the Bay Ridge section of the borough.
Dr. DeWaltoff, who recently was elected leader by the directors, said one of the first steps on his program will be the installation of a permanent rabbi. A mass meeting will be held Wednesday evening, when it is expected a plan of action will be mapped.
The Sisterhood of the center will lend its support in efforts to revive the activities of the synagogue, and is now working on a plan to raise money for the work. The last meeting of the sisterhood was held at the home of Mrs. DeWaltoff, under the leadership of Mrs. Joseph Kruchkow.
