“Bee Season,” by first-time novelist Myla Goldberg, is competing for this year’s Koret Jewish Book Award in fiction with recent novels by two giants of American Jewish literature, Saul Bellow and Philip Roth. The San Francisco-based Koret Foundation also has announced finalists in biography, autobiography and literary studies; history; and philosophy and thought. Winners will be announced April 23.
