The hope that the free world would not permit such an aggressive country as the United Arab Republic to occupy a seat on the United Nations Security Council, was expressed here at a press conference today by Menahem Beigin, member of the Knesset, Israel’s parliament, and leader of the Herut party. Mr. Beigin, who arrived here yesterday for a visit to this country, was met at the airport by hundreds of friends and admirers.
Lauding the spirit of the recent American elections, the Herut leader said that all Israelis “without exception” were convinced that the friendly relations between Israel and the United States would continue to grow stronger in the future. Mr. Beigin will address a large meeting at Carnegie Hall here Sunday evening.
