Menachem Beigin, Herut leader in Israel who is now visiting Argentina, last night told a gathering of 800 guests attending a banquet tendered in his honor that “many millions of Jews will inhabit the whole of the fatherland” and “massacres against Jews will never be carried out again because the world has seen the Jew resist oppression.”
The former commander of the Irgun Zvai Leumi, who was received by President Peron during the week-end, toasted both the Israeli and Argentine Presidents and delivered brief eulogies for Theodor Heral, Viadimir Jabotinsky and Irgun fighters who fell during the war last year. He also lauded the Haganah and Stern Group for their contributions to the victory over the Arab armies.
