Belarussian lawmakers appealed to the country’s president to stop construction on Jewish sites in Minsk. The lawmakers called on Alexander Lukashenko to halt building on the site of a 19th-century synagogue and over the ruins of a 16th-century synagogue, which was destroyed by the Soviet authorities in the 1970s.
