The Belgian authorities are assisting some 30 Hungarian Jewish refugees here to settle, at least temporarily, in this country and to find employment, it was reported here today.
The Jewish refugees have been assisted from the very beginning by the “Jewish Aid for War Victims” organization. Several families among the refugees plan to continue their migration to Israel while the majority hope to enter the United States and Canada. Several students among the refugees have been admitted to Brussels Free University.
A dozen Jewish refugees from Egypt have also arrived. Some plan to proceed to Israel and the others to join relatives in other countries.
