Elizabeth Lazarus, 21, and Elias Jacob, 29, admitted Sternists, were today sentenced to 20 months imprisonment by a Mons court for transporting explosives which they allegedly planned to use against high officials of the Palestine Government.
The court said that Miss Lazarus, a heroine of the French resistance and a granddaughter of the Russian composer, Alexander Scriabin, had in her possession when arrested 14 “letter bombs” addressed to officials of the Palestine Government, from the High Commissioner down. Both she and Jacobs had detonators in their luggage.
Attorneys for both announced that an appeal would be made. Meanwhile, it was learned that the French Government has asked for their extradition.
