Israel and Belgium signed here a cultural exchange agreement, providing for the development between the two countries of relations in the fields of science, letters, the arts and education “as well as mutual understanding of their social and cultural life.”
The agreement was announced in a joint communique issued by Pierre Harmel, Belgian Minister for Foreign Affairs, and Amiel E. Najar, Israel’s Ambassador to Belgium The pact is to take effect a month after formal documents of ratification had been exchanged in Israel between the two governments. The agreement testifies to the increasing cultural exchanges between Belgium and Israel.
