A demand for $20,000,000 as compensation for families of 21,000 Belgian Jews murdered in German concentration camps will figure high in the list of demands to be made by the Belgian Government to the Bonn regime in connection with claims arising out of the German occupation of this country. The Belgian claims will be examined in Bonn on June 19, together with similar claims put forward by the Netherlands, France and Italy.
A “Camille Huysmans Forest” will be planted in Israel to mark the 85th birthday of the president of the Belgian Chamber of Representatives, long noted as a fighter against racial discrimination and a warm friend of Israel. The committee to honor the Belgian elder statesman will act under the patronage of Belgium’s Prime Minister, Israel Minister Joseph Ariel, Cabinet ministers and leading Belgian personalities.
