The process of deporting German Jewish refugees from this country has been stayed for a time, following intervention by the Antwerp Hilfs Komitee, refugee aid organization.

As the result of negotiations the government has promised to end the wholesale arrests of refugees and to grant a number of them extended stays, provided they are able to prove they intend to emigrate later.
