Eccentric numbers will feature Belle Didjah’s oriental dance recital Sunday evening at the Forrest Theatre. Built on Arabian and Yemenite themes and accompanied by folk music, some of the dances will have a Biblical back ground.
Joseph P. Girlando, pianist, has composed music for Miss Didjah’s Aquarelle and Kangira, while Debussy’s work provides the background for the Wood Sprite number.
The sources of Miss Didjah’s dances are original, having been discovered by her on her recent Oriental tour when she had an opportunity to observe native dancing in the Bedouin tents near Nazareth as well as in the Arabian cafes of Syria.
