Several hundred former members of Palmach, the commando arm of Israel’s defense forces during the 1948 war for independence, joined former Prime Minister David Ben-Gurion and Deputy Prime Minister Yigal Allon here today for the unveiling of a monument in honor of the Palmach units that fought in the Negev.
