Declaring that the present war must “result in full recognition of a Jewish State in Palestine,” David Ben-Gurion, chairman of the Jewish Agency executive, in an address to the League for Labor Palestine Convention, last night called upon American Zionists to realign their forces so that they could more effectively strengthen the Zionist movement in the United States.

The League expressed its satisfaction with President Roosevelt’s statement to the American Palestine Committee, lauding Jewish achievements in Palestine as a sample of democracy in action. A resolution expressing the hope that contact between Russian and world Jewry would soon be reestablished was adopted by the convention. A letter from Dr. Chain Weizmann, president of the Jewish Agency, read at the meeting, praised the contribution of the Histadruth, Palestine labor federation, to Palestine’s war effort. The League pledged to raise $50,000 for the Histadruth. Dr. Herman Seidel was re-elected president at today’s session of the conference.
