Premier David Ben Gurion accused the United Nations last night of adopting an “unjust” attitude toward Israel in relation to the situation of Egyptian Jews, which Israel had placed on the General Assembly agenda.
Commenting on a Herut demand for a full-scale debate on the problem, Mr. Ben Gurion told the Knesset that the General Assembly had failed in its duty toward Egyptian Jews who were the victims of persecution. He reported that the Israel delegation at the UN had been instructed to raise the question.
The Premier pledged a debate in Parliament at the earliest possible moment and expressed the hope that a liberal world would be aroused to act to alleviate the plight of Egyptian Jewry.
