Prime Minister David Ben-Gurion today invited Mapai’s Arab members of the Knesset, Israel’s Parliament, for a discussion of the proposed changes in the military government in border areas.
It is understood that Mr. Ben-Gurion expects to submit to the Cabinet next Sunday a set of proposals, which, after Cabinet approval, would be introduced into the Knesset for debate before February 14. The proposals reportedly include modifications in the regulations aimed at liberalizing the military rule but will insist on the continuation of military government in border areas within the present framework.
