Premier-designate David Ben-Gurion is expected to present his new coalition Cabinet to the Knesset tomorrow after having secured an absolute majority in Parliament by means of Mapai’s parliaments with the National Religious party and the Progressives. Negotiations with Acdhut Avoda and Mapam, the left-wing Socialist groups, are expected to continue after the “small coalition” is approved by the Knesset.
Ben-Gurion’s Mapai party, meanwhile, seemed assured of the Jerusalem mayoralty by reaching agreement with Reuven Raviyah, a member of the Municipal Council elected on the immigrants ticket affiliated with the Religious list. Raviyan had been promised a Deputy Mayorship under a Mapai Mayor.
